PADI Open Water Diver Course = OWDC
Philippine Fun Divers reputation of providing professionally conducted courses is unmatched. Our personal pledge is to assure you of the best equipment there is, best boats there are in our area, highly knowledgable, professional, motivated and fun loving instructors and other supporting staff.
Now is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with PADI, the dive company that sets the standards in the global diving community.
One reason for our success is that we keep our classes really small and give our outmost attention to every single student. The Open Water provides you with the knowledge and skills you’ll need to safely visit the underwater world. Upon successful completion of this course you will be awarded the PADI Open Water Diver
certification card.
Your Confined Water Training will be held nearby a tropical reef, after each of your 5 confined water sessions and in your 4 Open Water Dives you will be able to discover the underwater world right away. Our principle in scuba teaching is: learning by doing. We have to do some classroom work, but we want to spend as much time in the water as possible. Whenever environmental condition allow it, we start scuba instruction right away at our housereef instead of a swimming pool. We start instructions in shallow water, just chest deep, to get acquainted to the u/w world, and then do some skills. After skill development we usually have still some time left, and air in our tanks, so we dive right away over to the coral garden teeming with fish at the drop off of our steep coral wall. We make sure you leave us as a confident suba diver. The course fee includes everything to complete the course, no hidden charges or registration fees. However, if you like to buy material you can purchase books, dive tables, dive computer as well as other scuba diving equipment in our dive center.
Bring a medical statement from your doctor that you’re fit for diving if you take any medications. You need 3 – 4 days to complete the course. And if you have to abort the course for any reasons, you don’t have to pay the full price of the course, only the parts which you have done.
Why PADI Open Water?
As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with your instructor to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water program.
What do I need to start?
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
* A PADI Jr Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 12 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 meters/40 feet.
What will I do?
Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean or lake) dives.

EFR = Emergency First Response Course
The EFR course is a pre-requisite for the PADI Rescue Course. Also a valid CPR/First Aid course from another training agency could be presented (not older than 2 years), we highly recommend to brush up your knowledge and skills with Philippine Fun Divers to get back the trust and confidence towards your CPR, First Aid and the AED.
Recent world events have proven that the ability to manage medical emergencies is critical when disaster strikes and emergency services are overwhelmed or nonexistent. Now you can get prepared to save the lives of your family, friends, coworkers and neighbors by taking Emergency First Response CPR, First Aid and AED courses. We’ll give you the confidence to respond when emergencies arise.
The Emergency First Response approach to training builds confidence in lay rescuers and increases their willingness to respond when faced with a medical emergency by teaching them the skills they need in a non-stressful learning environment.
Independent study accommodates individual learning styles and allows participants to learn at their own pace. This leads to better preparation before skill development, particularly when participants watch the video and see role model skill demonstrations.
Independent study allows the instructor to focus class time on skill development and scenario practice. Participants arrive prepared for hands-on training, which makes in-class time shorter to accommodate busy schedules.
Since independent study reduces the amount of time an instructor must spend covering general background knowledge, more time can be spent on skill development to meet specific workplace safety requirements. The learning time is focused to fill in any knowledge gaps and to provide information relevant to local regulations.
Though Emergency First Response courses and materials lend themselves well to independent study and the classroom time savings benefits this brings, there are other teaching formats your instructor may use. In some cases, live delivery of the theory components and the practical sessions is preferable. You and your instructor will determine which method is best for you.
Independent study allows you to learn on your own time and in the convenience of your own home.

* Recommended Course Hours: 8-12
